The maximum number of habitats a player may have been determined by their player level: Having multiple habitats of the same type are allowed and generally necessary for the game. All non-legendary and mythic habitats are now always five units in each dimension, and all legendary and mythic habitats are always six units in each dimension. Habitats used to increase in size with certain upgrades, but this has been removed. Each habitat can only store a limited amount of gold, but this amount increases with each upgrade. Habitats are also important for gold production. Elemental habitats can store two at low levels, three starting at level four, and four at level seven, while legendary and mythic habitats store a maximum number of monsters equal to its level.
